Cocteau Twins是支来自苏格兰的三人乐团。这群前卫音乐家们创造出了梦幻一般的奇异音乐。迷朦的气氛下优美夹着伤感，又流露出强烈的浪漫气息。天才吉他混音大师Robin运用大量噪音、延迟、回声、变形、电琴弓等手段营造出阴冷颓唐的旋律，再加上女主唱LIZ独一无二的、变幻莫测的、激情与技巧结合的声线使他们成为另类音乐界最美的声音。

乐队概况
' b8 S0 L! T, J3 K- O极地双子星（Cocteau Twins）是一个苏格兰乐队。
3 p) `; d/ F' p a: P5 m极地双子星基本上是个三人乐队。1981由吉它手罗宾·格思里（Robin Guthrie）、威尔·希格瑞（Will Heggie）和主唱伊丽莎白·弗雷泽（Elizabeth Fraser）组成。 Robin和Wil在酒吧结识了正在跳舞的Liz Fraser，把她招收为乐队成员。 1983年，推出Peppermint Pig单曲后，Will Heggie离开了乐队，另组LOWLIFE。之后极地双子星曾一度维持2人组型态推出作品。* d. J. w0 J* w
1984年，当参与THIS MORTAL COIL音乐的制作，认识贝斯手Simon Raymonde。加入后，陆续推出The spangle maker单曲和有名的Treasure专辑。一直到1997年，在筹备第9张专辑时，乐队突然宣布解散。这当中只有1986年的Victorialand 专辑，Raymonde因为参与THIS MORTAL COIL第二张专辑的制作而缺席。Victorialand 专辑刚推出时为了音效，LP唱片是45转速，不像一般专辑为33又1/3转速。
