Sade出生在非洲的尼日利亚，长在英国伦敦，不过Sade的音乐中并没有一丝非洲音乐成分。她的嗓音有些像黑人灵歌手，但她的音乐却是英式灵歌。如果说她的歌声像什么，那么只能用一些形容词来概括：晶莹、甜美、悠闲、舒缓、幽怨、空灵。每首歌都像一首温情的浪漫诗篇，轻轻流淌出来。1985年至1992年间，Sade 出版了4张专辑，延续的都是一种风格，但人们并未因此而失去对她歌声的赞美，音乐的不温不火，和她在歌坛的地位一样。人们喜欢她的音乐 ， 虽然她也从未大红大紫过 。
